Not much content lately. I set posting records in February, and used up my reserve of material. I’m going on vacation, so unless I have something to say and figure out how to post on the road, this is it for a week.
Question: I play poker a lot, I was thinking of giving little recaps after games – how I did, interesting hands and such. The key thing would be a running total of how far ahead or behind I am. Would readers like to read that?
Muttrox, I would love to hear about poker! For the record, it’s a good thing we live 3k away or I’d be taking you money playing poker. Your competition in Hotlanta must not be great. I’d play you the same way I used to kick your butt in chess and Diplomacy. Ha, ha. Anyways, I just came back from Vegas this weekend and lost some money on Texas Hold ‘Em. The problem was that the 4/8, 6/12 stakes are generally too low to effectively bluff very often. I did get away with a couple bluffs, but the risk/reward is too low since people generally will call down with lower stakes…so then, then the luck factor on your hands becomes more important which eliminates more of the skill factor.
LilBro has a point. I believe that, like video games, poker is an experiential thing. Talking about poker is like talking about the cool move you pulled off playing Kuma against Heihachi.
(yes, its true, I’m deep in videogame land again…)
I would be bored to tears by such posts.
well, it would almost certainly have to be more interesting than Gabe Kaplan and that tool he does color commentary with for high stakes poker (though the players are amusing)
